Default No WAG on 3s li-po

Been trying for a couple of weeks to stop the tail wag with my CSM200 and DD on 3 li-po's, tried everything i could think of, adjusted the gain up,down and round about didn't work it still wagged uncontrolably .
I read a thread somewhere about regulating the voltage to the tail motor so i fitted a 9V regulator to the tail power wires, it worked some but it still wagged like a happy puppy. So i was out earlier trying to make it obey me when it did one of those fancy pirroette things (uncontroled) and broke my last DD prop (oh no grounded AGAIN).Think's AHA stock tail rotor it might let me keep on trying to play, so i put a 10T pinnion on a pro motor with the stock tail setup, "ROCK SOLID" even in ground effect the it only required small inputs to keep it in a stable hover, it flew for over 15mins (first time i've reached double figures YEEHAA). I tried the stock tail without the regulator and it wagged out of control so i think the regulator is definately working to improve stability.
Just something else for ppl who are having probs with the CSM200 to try.
P.S sorry about the story

Two words: NICE ONE!!!!! The CSM is a great gyro, and 3-cell Lithiums are the best, but until now put them together and the combination was unbareable for most! But now you've come up with a solution! .... well at least when using the geared setup! Well done!!

Now, anyone care to try and tackle the waggyness of 3-cells when using a DD tail?

Thanks Hogster at least i can go to bed tonight and dream about getting some decent flying tommorow instead of lying thinking about what to do next. So eloquently put!

Hopefully I can go to bed with the hope that my new Piccoboard gyro will have arrived tomorrow!

I received my TREC (dionysusdesign.com)today (ordered on the 12th)...I'm installing it right now. I got package number 2 and the speaker for lipo low voltage warning, with shipping it was $66.98. Everything looks great and I excited about being able to control my 3c lipos with the DD tail with it. Hogster, if you haven't checked this esc out...going to their website is a must. This is the coolest little gizmo I've got...can't wait to plug it into my notebook and fool with throttle curve and the lot. Also...I PM'ed Dan(gambit) three times..he took the time to reply promptly even though each question was fully explained on the website. Got it when he said I would(so he's already beating 3/4 of the suppliers out there), what a good feeling to be taken care of. I'll report once I get her airborne!

Hi
when i had my pro i used a stock tail gear set-up with the csm 200 and it was rock steady (as far as a motor driven tail can be). The only problem iv found with the stock pro tail is that you keep breaking blades because they are so big and have very little clearance. Also in grass they stand to stall the motor!

Then when i went to the pinnacle with DD tail i started to get this wag. It will hold its direction and when i do a left (nose) piro and stop it holds ok, I only get it when i do a right piro, it will then wag for a few secounds. Iv heard theses trecs help so will be trying that nxt.

don;t you find your voltage regulator gets hot? have you tried some diodes in series?

either way WELL DONE

To be honest i have never checked, i will check it out the next time i fly. Flew a lot yesterday (in the garage) and never even thought about it. Checked main motor, tail motor and battery all were warm but not excessivly after about 10 mins of hovering
