Default Problem with my piccolo, tale rotor without \"force\"

Hi all,
Today while in flight, all the sudden, my piccolo became unstable, first he go up and then roll to the rigth, I gave command to the right (left stick) and the piccolo continue to roll to the right. Is this an indication that the tale rotor has insufficient force, or the main motor (speed 300) is consuming all the juice (battery)? Who help me to clarify the situation??

Thanks,
Alves

Hi Alves, welcome Portugal.

Can you tell us a bit more about your setup? Which Piccolo? What battery? What motor? (You said speed 300 but I don't know of a Pic with a 300. There is a 295, 310 & 410. Also, what pinion are you using on the main motor? Are you using a Picoboard or separates?

Lots of talent here to help you. Have you visited Paul Goelz's site, lots of great information, and Radd's Flight School will help you get into the air.

Hi Crash_n_Burn, Hi all,
Well, right now i am confused.

My piccolo was flying so well, but all the sudden it is to much instable, flying time was drastically reduced, what could happen??
the setup consists of piccolo fun with ball bearings, mini gyro, stock motors (main with 9theet), 2s lipoly, flybar paddles with very small atack angle (all 210g ?).
when Hovering, the piccolo roll to left, i gave order to the right (left stick to right) but the tale rotor seems inefficacious, piccolo still roll to left, what is happening, do you have some clue? I can think one thing or two: lipoly weak (new pack with 7 charges by Apache charger), tale motor weak, to much stress between main motor pinion and the large weel(paper 80g/m2)? what else?

Thanks
Alves

Hi Alves, I'm not sure I understand the problem, I think it is just a language problem
Do you mean The heli is spinning round like when you put in the wrong tail motor command? It could be the tail motor is dying, but you say flying time is shorter as well?
If the main battery has not enough voltage and you are flying with the pack almost flat, the tail motor can start to behave badly. Can you fit a different battery or have you only the one lipoly? It is hard to say if the battery is good unless you can compare it to another one or measure the capacity.
More questions, sorry! - do the motors get hot?
How long do you fly the heli until you land? Do you stop before the battery gets low?

Check that your main motor and tail pinions arent slipping, glue for security.

Hi JJ, Hi Willpeed,
Well, with one fresh charged pack lipoly (charger Apache) 8,36v, I can fly the piccolo without ground effect for about 3min (7,34V after 3min, 3,4A total for current) then I could fly another 6 or so minutes in GE. when i stop flying, the pack has 6,4v (in full throtle), the main motor is extremely hot, the tale motor is mild warm.
The 247g of the piccolo have some responsability??
The pinion was glued with epoxy.

What is the maximum recommended weight for the piccolo with batteries?

Why so little time out of GE?

I also try a speed 300 for main motor, the piccolo fly very well, the tale motor has more difficulty to treat with the increase in couple, but since the current was 13A I stop to spare the lipoly.

I realy don't understand why the main motor get so hot, do you have an explanation??

Thanks
Alves
