Anybody have any experience with these in a piccolo, or opinions on whether they would work? I've tried making my own cd-rom, but not getting anything working with any reliability, so these motors look like an interesting lower cost brushless option. The specs on the 300df show about 3 grams less than an astro 010. The 400 motors are heavier, but the prices are pretty good. I'm looking to set up a second pic either as a bell 47 or moth. I've searched around, but haven't found any info on heli use. Here are some links:

Looks like a smaller version of the Axi Outrunners, popular fashion for some Hornet V2 owners.
Diameter 26mm might be a bit of a problem to physically fit and I think they are around 1000rpm/v rating which may need 15-25T pinion (again has mounting issues). might be interesting tho I've recently purchased the cheap $50 HiMaxx2015-2800 which seems ok but is 60g with a Phoenix and 2mm pinion. EDIT: ah right sorry 2250 rpm/v Battery cell 2-3 (Li-ion type) Current 7A KV 2250 Weight 25g Shaft dia 2.30mm |

The spec looks Ok to me, 2200rpm/V is near the stock 295 or 14t Astro. 26mm might mean a bit to carve out of the from undercarriage mount, I do this to fit in a 29mm cdrom. Lightflight quote the shaft size as 3mm but the makers say 2.3mm.
I wonder how Astro get 32grams? My old 16t, also quoted as 32grams, weighs more like 38g. |
