Default Setting up piccolo pro, please help

hello to you all, decided to follow my father and invest in a microheli (he has a eco piccolo). i have ended up with a secondhand already flown but in good nick piccolo pro, fully assembled with piccoboard pro and a spped one charger. Have taken advice and ordered a futaba field force 6 with nicad (no servo's etc). Is there anything else i need to get before beginning to learn to fly i think i need some crystals but not sure what type and where to get them from.
Any help and advice would be most grateful
regards

Hey Mark!!
Welcome to the board!! first of all get your setup in your sig so we all know what you got. Second, put your area where you live in as someone might just live round the corner, you never know!! Have you read the welcome post? Also have you been to paul's site? Lots of info there as he is "the Godfather" of the pico!!! I would suggest you get or make some training gear as it does help out in lessening the damage as you learn!! Also check out Radd's school of flight(someone help with a link!!!??), it has helped many a pico addict to get off the ground without too much damage to the cc!!! Also if you follow it step by step, you WILL be flying in no time at all! At least you got your dad to help you out with setting up the heli!! I don't know much of the collective pitch but it sure is more difficult to fly than the fixed pitch, but it is possible to learn on it(just keep your cc handy as the blades are the first to go!!!)
I would suggest you start off with the fixed pitch and then once you can fly it, give the cp a go. You will save a lot of money on the long run!! Just buy the fp head assy and you are sorted!!
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!!!
