Default Piccoboard Setup Help

Hi. I've just bought a second hand Piccolo Pro (has fixed pitch blades fitted at the mo). I have no instructions for setting up the Piccoboard. Which pot is which for adjusting the tail mix & gyro gain? What is the best order to achieve a good setup? Is there a website with this info on lineI would appreciate any help. Thanks.
Chuck

Hi, ChuckFly, I am an ignorant in the Pro, but the piccoboard Pro should have the "sensibility" on the forward pot and the Mixer on the rear pot.
Also " has fixed pitch blades fitted at the mo" : Take care, I am not sure that this is good unless the Pitch cuve on your transmmitter is specially set up for this.
Which is your radio? Do you have experience in Collective pitch?
About your setup info, you can describe the details of your heli in the "signature" part of your profile (see My Home).
So, everybody will have a better information to be able to help you.
Goood luck! and welcome to the club. Don´t let it ruin your sleep hours, some of us spend all night long fiddling with our fat insect (as described on a rage moment by my wife).

Thanks for the reply
I'm using a JR X378 radio & have sorted the throttle & pitch curves for this. The real problem I seem to have is not getting enough tail rotor action no matter how much I wind up the mixer. The heli wants to swing left at takeoff rotor rpm & no amount of right stick counteracts this. I'm suspicious of my tail motor. Any Ideas.
I've been on Paul Goelz's site & this has helped as a good source of info.
Cheers Chuck

It could be lots of things but simplest to try is increase your throttle curve and decrease your pitch curve.

What's the Birdseye Helicam Aerial Camera work?

Chuck, I may be way off here, but isn't the Piccolo Pro a CP heli ??? If you run FP blades you are likely to get far more torque reaction than with CP blades and at lower head speeds. This could be the reason you're experiencing the problem, far more main rotor torque than the tail rotor was ever intended to counteract.

Hi Buzz
Yep, you could be right about the difference in torque with the fixed pitch setup. The lack of tail authority seems to be getting worse with time making me think that the tail motor is dropping off in performance. I will try the CP setup all the same & see how it goes.
Birdseye Helicam is my Aerial Photography-Video business shooting from my other model helis.

Cheers Chuck
