Advice on separates setup required please...

It's a while since I did this, but having offered to replace a burnt-out ESC on a friend's heli, I now can't remember how to set it up. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

The overall system is just a basic G310 motor and standard tail motor, with a GWS 4 channel Rx, Century gyro, ICS100 for the main and ICS50 for the tail. The Tx is a GWS Dream Starter (ah, doesn't it remind you of the good old days!). [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

Anyway, it's all wired up correctly (of course!), initiallises and WILL fly, but at centre stick the tail wants to spin at half speed. Can anyone remember how I trick it into thinking that centre stick is zero tail speed, and full right is full speed? Ta! [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Yeah sfunny I had one of those when I got my Pic did the job fine and now....... well erm I'm still using it and it still does the job fine [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] of course it will be a diiferent story when I eventually decide to go CP [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

Not sure you can. You need a throttle to rudder curve (AKA Revo mix) and I doubt that transmitter has one. You could intentionally mis-adjust the gyro centering to make 50% rudder = 0% throttle, but then you would need to manually apply right rudder as you throttled up and down.

Fortunately my friend also has another Tx - I think it's a JR 652 which he uses to fly his Robbe Moskito, so I expect that will do the job if he just buys another crystal and programmes it in as a 2nd model.

If its a JR Tx with only up and down mixing it is a PAIN if not nigh on impossible to get it to fly a piccolo nicely with a std rate gyro.

I had a JR xp662 the next years model of the 652
I was never happy with it, its fine on larger helis but you need more than two points of adjustment on a piccolo to have sufficient tail control with a std rate gyro. IMO
