Default Ralph Motor

I've had the ralph motor running now for 1 month approx 150 flights and no sign of slowing Thanks Ralph & Willp
Although it does get warmer than the B2 motors & it feels quite tight after a flight, I noticed my flight times about 1 minute shorter than usual. Could this be normal for the Ralph motor? I'v been testing different pitch with my blades and I'm not sure what could be contributing to this?

the fact that it's warmer might mean that it's drawing more current, thus reducing your flight times. but 150 flights ain't too bad. have you checked it's amp draw?

btw,i have one too, but i don't use it because it doesn't offer any more rpm than a stock one (i was trying it on the moth when i was testing speed 300's in it)

2 cents

If it is warmer, that is wasted power. And wasted power is power that did NOT fly the heli.

You are doing very well to get that many flights out of it! Are you running 7 or 8 cells?

I'm running a 7cell sanyo 250ma NiCad pack with an 8 tooth pinion & stock blade. I usually get 3:30 to 4mins and was thinking about trying a B2 motor to see but I only have one 8 tooth brass pinion and sinci this motor is doing so well I don't really want to disturb it. So I was wondering if anyone had maybe noticed reduced flight times with the Ralph motor.

If the 8 tooth pinion is on the main motor, try switching tot he 9 tooth. You may be running out of motor RPMs before you exhaust the pack.
