Default Where do you fly?

I assume that most people on this board have Piccolos, so where do you all fly? I go to Watford and the Welwyn meetings but there are never many there, so does every one else fly in there house or outdoors on calm days?

I fly in my house

I've taken my Piccolo along to a local indoor meet twice over the years, and each time something went wrong to prevent me from flying

Then I realised that my Piccolo is really a "home-bird," so that's where she stays now

Hovering in the house is a bit too restricting and gets dull after a few mins, at which point I used to try some stupid manoeuvres that ended in a crash . Now I've stopped doing that so much and wait for calm weather, find a remote field to fly in. I'd like more alternative interesting locations but it's getting harder to find large safe spaces that aren't filled with annoying people .

into walls, doors, cupboards - hell I'll fly into anything

I used to fly the pic around in the garden, but the neighbours got really annoying wanting to chat and watch. Then I made the moth and flew that indoors as with it's small size you can do 100 times more things in a tiny space. Now it sits on the shelf and waits for winter when the indoor meets start up again, the pic's just sold on ebay, and I'm learning to hover shockflyers over the bed instead!

Once a month - Halesowen ! and more here .

Once a week in the village hall. Here's the Hole-in-the-Floor Gang :

Out at the flying field when it isn't too windy, once in our living room full of obstructions, bedroom occasionally, small side garden, once or twice out in the street at quiet times at the side of the house.
Probably in the conservatory again at the YAS winter show.

Me too Radd!! - Not allowed to fly in the house (I wonder why!!) So I have to wait for calm days in the garden which are all too infrequent down here in the windy S.W.

Nobody down here with a pic that I know of so all on my ownsome - can't afford to hire a hall ..........
All say AH!!!!!!!!

Once a week at the local indoor heli meet (upstairs at a local British Legion club).

It's lovely - nice big wooden floor to skate about on, well lit, pub tables around the perimeter to work on/take off from/land on, beer mats to use as helipads or chase around with your rotor wash, easy to see your scattered bits when you crash... as you can see I hate it.

Here's a Pic pic:

Or outside - rarely. The Pic gets too small too quick. Unless I forget to extend my aerial (like last time), when at 30ft away it goes into an uncontrollable plummet and after a brief search I take the remnants home in a plastic bag.

Mainly in the garage. Sometimes at the school where my wife teaches in the gym.
