I recently bought a Pinnacle frame from another modeler, but without a tail boom. Anyone know where I can get a boom to match? I tried the USA vendors listed on Warren's site with no luck
Thanks, Howie |

I,m pretty sure that any upgrade piccolo boom or stock will fit into the pinnacle.most maufacters carry them in some form or another.

Try a length of carbon fibre tube of the appropriate diameter. This should be more easily available (and what I'll be using to replace the tail on my pinnacle!).
As for the length, then just enough to ensure that the tail rotor is completely clear of the main rotor when looking down on the heli from directly above (this ensures the airflow from the main rotor doesn't affect the tail rotor.) I think its best to leave the boom a push fit in the frame, so it's easier to repair when those little accidents happen! Cheers Andy |

Thanks guys. I realize I could use any Picc boom, but actually was hoping to use CF tubing that will match the pattern used in the frame, but can not seem to find a vendor in the US who will sell single tubes, or small lots. I have made several aluminum booms in the past for my FP Picc by visiting my local train hobby shop

The sort of pattern used in the chassis of the pinnacle is a woven Carbon fibre pattern. You should be able to get woven carbon fibre rods, instead of the cheaper and more readily available pultruded carbon rods.
Try a kite supplies shop, They sell carbon tube as replacement spars for kites. They might have something suitable... Cheers Andy |
