Default Wood blade covering material?

I have the woodies for my pic pro and the original material isn’t sticking the way it did many moons ago. I tried using monocoat on a set but applying heat to the drilled out areas on the blades is leaving me with bumps which cant be a good thing.

I don't have any experience with it, but I've heard others suggest large shrink tubing.

I've never ordered from them, but they came up as a supplier on a rc groups thread about covering blades.

I did a search on shrink tubing, got tooooo many hits to list. The site luch suggest will probably do nicely, you can buy it by the foot and only $2 shipping, sounds reasonable.

If you dont have success with heatshrink i used Pro-Film to cover my blades like monokote but slightly different

You use an Iron to heat the pro-film to make it stick then shrink to remove any bubbles or bumps just dont shrink the film or heatshrink too much or you will warp the blades

I use thin heatshrink tubing from the hobby shop. They carry it for the car guys that build battery packs. They had some that was a really good fit before it was shrunk. After shrinking, it is perfect. The only drawback is that it is difficult to paint if you use clear tubing and want it colored. I find that dope stick reasonably well if you wipe the tubing with acetone to rough it up a bit. But even then, it will come off if you scratch it or apply and then remove some tape.

Before I switched to tubing, I used Monokote. The bumps can be avoided by using a pin to make a tiny pinhole in each bay on the underside.

I forgot about the pin trick. That hooked me up pretty well until my last flight a few minutes ago (First time that the blades actually got damaged on me). So, going through my assortment of blades, I found a couple pair that are symmetrical. The ones that I just snapped were semi-symmetrical and were not as wide (by 3/16th). I wasn’t aware that you could order different blades for the pro. I am also going to order the heat shrink.

Thanks all!
