Finally! Made some time today and spooled her today for the first time without the rotor blades fitted. Guess what she did guys, she bit me
![]() Guess i left her alone for too long Must of missed that part in the instructions that the throttle servo needs to be reversed Fitted the blades made the rest of the servos go the right way. Spooled up lots (what a lovely sound), then my battery died. Still got a lot of trmming and tweaking to do but at least i'm on my now. |

I dont want to post a photo of my thumb.
I got bitten by the Raptor 50. (it is just a scratch with a drop of blood) Helicopters work better if they taste blood. Chris |

No i am fine but rc helicopters are very dangerous and they deserve respect and attention all the time. Chris |

A friend of mine got bit last week too. He was holding the heli (eco 8) overhead, and there was a serious glitch (which he was testing for) which forced the cyclic hard over and it whacked him in the chest. Just left som bruises and he's ok now. This was with BBT's and he said the trailing edge split open from the force. Ouch. Never been bitten, never want to be...

Erez,
He was both very lucky and very stupid !! I hate holding a piccolo at full chat.. (been bitten by one of those too ) and would never do it with an Eco.. ! Some of you may remember a few years ago I got bitten by my Eco 8 just hovering in the back garden, and ended up with a cracked rib from receiving a blow from the MS Carbon blades, and this was through 2 layers of clothing. It still gives me trouble on cold damp days now !! Chris, You type well one handed - your are so right, I bet you give your nitro more respect than the Eco.. I think its the noise factor. With a 15cc (or more) glo enging screaming ist nuts off most stay well clear. |

People at the field reckon I look more nervous carrying the heli to the flight line than I do in flight
I've been bitten by the Eco while carrying it to the line, which was not at all pleasant and damaged my thumb quite badly - I now dont connect the battery up at all until its sitting in take off position, but the worst was when the Raptor had rx failure immediately after startup - it went full throttle and all servo's went to max throw - I had my arm, jacket and starter motor caught in the blades so had no choice but to hang on for dear life fortunately one of my flying mates was sitting right next to me and threw himself on the heli and ripped the fuel line off I now NEVER fly the rappy on my own - just in case! Probably sounds more dramatic than it looked, and was all over in seconds, but those seconds took a VERY long time to pass for me. |
