Default Hacker flowerpower!

Holly smoke! The B20 26S is the motor for everyone with heavy Piccolos! I only
had a 10t pinion so it hovers at 50% throttle and I had to set the tail mix to 95% so
right turns might be slow but the power was amazing. I had to reduce the pitch allot
and the head speed is 1500+ at hover, at full throttle I don't know, I'm sure the head
would leave the heli and go through my ceiling if I tried. So I don't know if there is a
step in my Jeti cos it would fly at no more than 70% throttle and then suddenly it's all
over, the ESC just cut power with no warning and it drops to the floor.Flight time
was about 5 min on 7x250 but it might be better to run it on 6 cells. So now I can
keep my Huey

I'll try 8t tomorrow, it should at least be better but maybe it's still to much. I think 7t
is the smallest that could be used if it is mounted like normal on the shaft. If that is still
to big I have to make my own pinion and move the motor up so the pinion can be
made with no hole where the teeth are.

Oh, and it is scare to start it some times cos the load is to high on the motor and it can takes 5-10 tries to get it runing, mostly it just spin one rev and folds the blades.

BTW does anyone know how to disable the low voltage cut off on a Jeti 06?

the B20-26S or even the 31S would probably be a better choice as they're not quite such a hot wind. then you could use a 10T pinion.

You ment the 40S. Yes, but I had this already so I had to try it. The 26L has even lower rpm but is heavier

no, i meant the and the 31S (also short). they also make an even milder one (40S), but i think it would be too tame.

here's the chart that i was referring to for the hacker's specs: http://www2.jonction.net/~icare/hackerspec.htm

Guys,

You've lost me on this post (easy I know ). Is the B20 motor a standard type or is it brushless, and if it is standard could it be run from a picoboard or does it need it's own ESC to handle the current.

The reasion I ask is that there has been a lot of concern that with the new 222 bodies the 295 and even the 310 simply does not have enough guts to lift the extra weight. If this motor can be a direct replacement for the 295 or 310 it would prove the ideal solution

The B20 is brushless so you need a new ESC as well. This is the motor some people use in their Hornet

""the B20-26S or even the 31S would probably be a better choice""

John, did you mean 26L then? I have the 26S already and a long would not fit under the body so don't buy that one if you have a body like mine

J, if 8T does not work, you should use smaller blades or find a larger spur gear.

Thanks for the link! We will see tomorrow how it goes.

I have my insane cut stock blades to try also, they might work.

The problem with shorter blades and higher rotor rpm is that flight time will suffer but at least I know that it will fly now and if the current draw is under 2.5A I can use my Li-ion pack.

But it would be cool if I could fly with 6 or even 5 cells, that would lower the weight and the current raw allot. If I could only find a way to turn off the low voltage!

Does anyone have a homepage for the Jeti?

no j. iat first i thought you were using a 22S so i responded with the 26S or 31S. i never would recommmend using the B20-xxL (long ones). both of them are too big and too heavy, but i think the 31S might be the best one for the piccolo.
