It sometimes takes a while for the reply to show up. Meanwhile your pc either shows a page stored on your drive, or loads the old version. On my connection the new page usually shows after I tell it to refresh a couple of times.

Hi,

try this

- Type "F5" , it will refresh the page
- empty your 'temporary internet files" often

The same thing happened to me and I see that it is happening to you guys since in one topic, there were 12 replys, but only 2 showed up! What happened to me, was my replies were not showing up until about a day later. After about a week it changed to showing up after about an hour. Then it slowly decreased until i could post right after I actually made the reply. I think the same might be happening to you guys. Thats my thoguht of the day

Check your browser cache setting to make sure they refresh regularly. If refreshing, (reload for Netscape), solves your problem set the cache to compare pages on every load, (or refresh every time you go to the page).

I also can't see the replies other people are putting up! Like my question about my radio and the pic, it says 3 replies, but I only see 1!

Ya, your browsers aren't refreshing, if you hold down shift and click refresh (in IE on pc's, anyway) it should force a refresh of the page... Good luck!

There is another possible reason why posts do not show up right away. Apparantly some ISPs (Comcast, for example... in some areas) are using proxies that you may not be aware of. This is to consolidate traffic and reduce their bandwidth. But if the proxy is not configured correctly, it can return a stale copy of a web site instead of the most recent copy. I do not think that using the browser's REFRESH button (with or without SHIFT) will correct this, since the problem is external to the browser.

I just had a post not show up after the BBS took me back to the thread that I had replied to. Hitting reload returned the updated copy, and a quick look shows I am not going through a proxy that I can see, but this was the first time it had happened to me.

UPDATE: Did it again on this post. Could be the proxy issue, or it could just be that the normally VERY fast Ikarus servor is busy this morning.
