At the golf dome that I fly at a few guys got some 830 mah 2 cell lithium packs that have given good results on slow flyers. My Dad bought 10 packs of these with a charger for only $40 U.S. I tried them on my piccolo and with the 9 tooth pinion it couldn't get out of GE. I changed to a ten tooth pinion and it was able to climb a little higher.
I think a 3 cell pack would really work well. The problem is the charger that came with the batteries can only charge 2 cell packs. The 2 cell pack weighs 1.9 ounces. ---------- NJJ061801 New ECO-8 flying pictures and Channel Checkers for sale at http://www.geocities.com/jonh48327/Jon_s_E-Helis.html |

If you can find out what the charging parameters are (voltage per cell), they can be charged with a conventional bench supply that has adjustable voltage and current limiting. But you have to be VERY careful or you can damage them and/or start a fire.

Jon;
Make up two packs , and charge two on one pack, then two on the next pack , then one from each pack. Of course you have to get a little creative with some jumpers and connectors. But a little picollo ingenuity is all thats needed. |
