Travis,
I can't remember what I paid, but I liked them so much I bought two of them. If you can fly a piccolo, you can fly anything! You will need to buy the autorotation gear and will probably want the ccpm aluminum swashplate. Don't use mechanical mixing. Yes, it is worth it. I have 2 of them also. And I cant fly a piccolo, Hover a little bit. I tried it once. What Pierre means is get the sawashplate for 120 dgree CCPM mixing. The rotorhead can come later. Yes, you will need the auto rotate gear. Like he said if you can fly the Piccolo you can fly anything. See I warned you guys about hanging out here. Whos going to be the next ECO 8 owner????

I have been seriously thinking also towards an ECO 8.
How much flight time do you get & can you fly it on a windy day? Is it more stable than the piccolo & what damage will I expect after a hard landing & crash? ------------------ John VHJM010700 [This message has been edited by Mantovani (edited 03-12-2001).] |

As far as time, its all how you set it up. Brushless, or not brushless, Batteries Nicad or Nimhs. As far as a HARD crash yeah, you will be replacing, shafts and tail boom at the very least. About 50.00 unless you trash the blades too. Then it will be more. Once setup it handles the wind nice. It will ballon on you if your trying to fly in 10+mph. But you can uassally see it coming and hold it tight. I try to fly in less than 10mph. Its a lot nicer. This is not an indoor heli as a lot of peole think. It is powerfull and will do a lot of damage to you or your house. It blows a lot of wind and unless you have a warehouse to fly it in doors. Get it outside on a clam day for intial setup. The Trick is to refuse to crash.

Hi All
Yes it is worth it and better value than the Piccolo. I am on my second one. It is much easier to fly but one crash is one too many. Needs a lot of setting up to get it flying right but when it is done, its wonderfull to fly. Only close competitor is Voyager E but ECO8 is a better bet. Andy |
