Piccolo CP configuration

I've been flying the FP Piccolo. I'm planning to get a CP Piccolo. The Piccolo Pro is one path. Getting the CP kit and adding to a FP Piccolo is another. I have a JR783 Tx, which has a heli mode and can do throttle->pitch mixing. It doesn't do CCPM, to my knowledge.
Do I need CCPM for the CP kit?

any regular heli transmitter with at least 6 channel is fine for use with the piccolo CP head.
